Canberra's biggest and friendliest triathlon club!
Canberra Bilbys Triathlon Club is friendly club catering for complete beginners and seasoned triathletes alike. The club has grown year after year and has around 350 members, including 80 new novices each year which make us the biggest triathlon club in Canberra.
The Bilbys began in 1987 in Canberra, Australia, when a group of individuals (mainly firemen) formed an informal training group to pursue their goals in the sport of triathlon. The club takes its name from the Bilby, an Australian marsupial (noted for its speed, cunning and agility - NOT!) according to our founding members).
We have a year round training schedule, including regular running, swimming, cycling and mountain biking sessions, which caters for all abilities as well as a hugely popular novice program which is run each year just before the race season. We also have a number of members who organise informal training session for orienteering, rogaining and adventure races.
The club also organises a number of social events for members, such as the annual cocktail party, club races and post-race get togethers.
